Hotspots*, Switches, Hubs, Extenders, Powerline, Ethernet, Adapters or other third-party networking devices- these third party devices can be used to make a functioning and supported setup (exactly like how different routers and modems are used); however, we do not troubleshoot third-party devices. If other support article troubleshooting fails to resolve the issue:
Remove all extraordinary third-party devices (e.g. please set up all the TiVo equipment on one router --even if that entails changing the boxes locations).
Attempt to reproduce the issue on the equipment.
If it recurs, troubleshoot the issue.
If the error does not recur, please contact your third-party manufacturer for assistance.
*Wireless connections based on 3G, 4G, 4G LTE, newer or similar technologies are not supported.

Setup Instructions
Multi-Room Viewing
This procedure refers to the source device and destination device.
The source device is the one which contains the program to transfer.
The destination device is the one to which the program is being transferred.
Both the source and destination devices will continue to function normally while the transfer is taking place. You will always initiate the transfer from the destination device. You need to select the device you are adding on your transferred recording. You need to follow the steps below:
You need to ensure that the source and destination devices are connected to the network.
From the destination device, you need to press the TiVo button on the remote control to go to TiVo Central and select Now Playing (for TiVo Series 3 & 2 with SD menus) or My Shows (HD menus).
From the Now Playing or My Shows screen, you need to highlight the name of the source device and press Select.
From the list of programs on the source device, you highlight the program to transfer and press Select.
From the Program screen, select Transfer this recording.
If the recording had begun on the source device, you may also see Transfer from paused point.
If a transfer is already in progress, the new request will be added to the To Do List and scheduled for transfer later. Important: Programs are transferred one at a time in the order requested. The speed of the transfer depends on a variety of factors. For example, a program recorded at a higher quality takes longer than one recorded at a lower quality, and wireless networks are generally slower than wired networks.
From the Getting Program screen, select Start playing to begin viewing the program as it transfers.
You can only watch the portion of the recording that has been transferred to the second device. Because transfer speeds can vary, you may experience pauses during playback if the transfer is not complete.
