Feature | OnePass and Season Pass
After upgrading from a previous software version, each Season Pass was changed to a "Recordings only" OnePass. How can you create a OnePass for the same show with different recording options for new episodes vs. reruns?
With the introduction of OnePass, your TiVo DVR finds and organizes content into a single folder for a show from all providers – such as linear TV, cable provider VOD content, and content from third-party video providers. This enables subscribers to watch their favorite shows and movies in one unified experience across devices.
If you have multiple Season Passes for the same show, those Season Passes are combined in a OnePass with “All Channels,” “If possible” (to get in HD), and start from “First available season” options. The new OnePass will be listed in the same position as the highest priority Season Pass that was used to create the OnePass. The most unrestrictive recording settings across all Season Passes for this show are used for the OnePass. For example, if you have two different Season Passes for “The Big Bang Theory,” one to record only new episodes and another to record “New and repeats,” a single “Recordings only” OnePass will be created to record “New & repeats.”
If you want to have different recording options for new versus repeat showings for a show, you can create a OnePass for all new episodes on a specific channel. Then, for repeats, create a WishList with specific options on the WishList criteria – such as setting the Title keyword as the exact name of the show, including cast and crew members, and so on. This picks up all episodes of only the desired show. Ensure that the OnePass for new episodes has a higher priority than the WishList OnePass by adjusting the priority through the OnePass Manager.
Why was the option to ungroup in the My Shows view removed with the introduction of OnePass?
With the introduction of OnePass, your TiVo DVR finds and organizes content into a single folder for a show from all providers – such as linear TV, cable provider Video on Demand (VOD) content, and content from third-party video providers. In previous versions, only recorded shows were displayed in My Shows. Because OnePass provides the streaming content as well, the ability to remove grouping cluttered the My Shows view, so the option to ungroup was removed. If you want to determine the oldest recording for a show, you can go into the show’s folder and view recordings sorted by date. You can also use the additional folders – Going Away Soon, TV Series, Movies, Kids, and so on – in the 3-column My Shows view to view recordings by date within each category.
The option to view all recordings in a list will be updated in a future release.
What do the new icons next to the programs in My Shows mean?
Different icons are used to indicate the status or the source of the content. Visit TiVo Icons Explained for more information.
What happened to my Season Passes?
When your TiVo DVR received OnePass functionality, all current Season Passes were converted to Recording Only OnePasses. If you had multiple Season Passes for the same series, they were combined into a single OnePass and listed in the same position as the highest priority Season Pass you had before.
There is no additional charge to view content from subscription-based VOD providers such as Netflix, other than the subscription cost. If content is available for rent or purchase separately, OnePass lets you specify whether to include that paid content in your results.
What's the difference between Create a OnePass and Add to My Shows?
Sometimes you only want to see a few episodes of a program, or perhaps a single season. No problem! As the example below shows, you don't have to create a OnePass—you can add stand-alone streaming episodes or seasons right from the show's menu.
How can I manage my To Do List and OnePass recordings?
Yes. When you get a OnePass/Season Pass for a live event (NFL Football, for example), you will be prompted to add extra recording time. You will see this prompt only if the Pass contains only live events; if it also includes rebroadcasts or highlight shows, for example, you will not be prompted to record extra time. You can always set the recording options to pad the beginning or end of any scheduled recordings, including OnePass and Season Pass recordings. Go to How to Change Recording Options for instructions. For sports, stop recording time is set to default for an hour longer, visit How to create OnePass for Sports for more information.
Can I have multiple OnePasses for the same show/series?
No need! All available content for a particular show will be shown in a single OnePass.

Why does my Series folder move to the top of the My Shows list when there are no new recordings available?
By default, content is sorted by date with the newest content displayed first. Folder dates are based on the date that new content (either a recording or a standalone streaming video) was added or became available in the My Episodes view of the folder. You can toggle the sort order by date added or alphabetically.
For streaming videos, the Watch Now menu on the program details screen displays all available streaming video offers, including:
-
Subscription offers, which allow subscribers to watch streaming videos without additional cost.
-
Transactional offers, which require additional payment to watch streaming videos. Even if the OnePass option doesn't include "Rent or Buy," a subscriber will still find the transactional offers in the Watch Now menu.
A subscriber might still need to provide credentials or a Purchase Control PIN for each third-party video provider to be able to purchase content from them.
