The Prime Video app for TiVo lets you rent or purchase movies and TV shows and watch them on your TiVo DVR.

Getting Started
To use Prime Video on TiVo, your TiVo device must be linked to your Prime Video account. All DVRs on your TiVo account share a personal identification number (PIN), which you will use to order videos. You also need to set your Prime Video account to accept digital payment. The first time you launch Prime Video on your TiVo device, you will receive a code which you will need to enter at the device registration page.
Note: You can use only one Prime Video account per TiVo account.

Where is the Prime Video launch point on my Series 3 DVR?
Prime Video stopped supporting their legacy application for TiVo DVRs in April 2015. The current Prime Video application is only compatible with TiVo BOLT Series, TiVo Roamio Series, TiVo Mini, and TiVo Premiere Series using HD menus.
My Prime Video app updated to the new version. Can I still view content purchased through the old version?
Yes. All of the content you previously purchased and downloaded will be available as streamed content in the new app.
Where can I find a list of my registered devices at primevideo.com?
- Log into your Prime Video account.
- Click on Departments > Unlimited Instant Videos > Prime Video > Settings > Registered Devices
- Or if using a web browser, go to https://www.primevideo.com
You can have an unlimited amount of devices registered to your Prime Video account, but you can only stream video to TWO devices at a time.
What is the difference between rental and purchase?
Rented videos from Prime Video are available for you to start viewing for 30 days after you rent them. Once you have started viewing a rented video, you will have a limited time (typically 24 hours) to finish watching the video before your viewing period expires and the video is no longer available.
Purchased videos from Prime Video (as well as Prime Video content) can be viewed (via streaming) as often as you wish with no time restriction.
For complete usage terms, please see the primevideo.com Terms and Conditions.
Will I need to enter my PIN each time I purchase or rent a video?
Yes. Your PIN will allow you to browse, purchase, stream, and download videos to your TiVo DVR. Your PIN is also used to help protect you from unauthorized purchases made on your Prime Video or TiVo accounts.
What If I forget my PIN?
Select the "I forgot my PIN" option listed on the PIN entry screen. You'll need to enter the email address and password you use for your Prime Video account.
To update your PIN or 1-Click Payment method, go to https://www.primevideo.com and click the Edit purchase PIN & payment settings button.
Will I be required to enter additional passwords each time I purchase or rent a video?
No. Once you've linked your accounts, you will only need your PIN to order videos.
Are high-definition videos available from Prime Video?
Yes.
How do I confirm a video purchase or rental?
You will immediately receive an order confirmation email, but you can also verify all purchases and see your order history by going to Your Video Library at https://www.primevideo.com.
What if I accidentally purchase or rent a video more than once?
Prime Video ignores multiple attempts within a one-minute span of time. This should prevent accidental multiple purchases from occurring. However, if you accidentally purchase a video more than once, contact Prime Video Customer Support immediately.
Can I stream a single video from Prime Video to multiple TiVo devices?
Yes. Each purchase may be streamed to any TiVo device registered on your Prime Video account. However, only TWO devices can stream from Prime Video at a time, and each program can only be streamed to ONE device at a time.
Do Prime Video videos offer closed captioning?
The current version of the Prime Video app for TiVo supports closed captioning.
If I delete my Prime Video from my TiVo DVR, is it gone forever?
Prime Video replaced downloading with streaming-only content in 2015. Prime Video stores all of your purchased videos in Your Video Library, which you can now stream instead of re-download. However, please take note of the Pay-TV Blackout Window.
What is the Pay-TV Blackout Window?
Due to restrictions from the video rights holders, most newly released movies will occasionally become temporarily unavailable for streaming from Your Video Library, even after you have already purchased the video.
During this "Pay-TV Blackout Window," certain programs will be temporarily unavailable from the Prime Video catalog and Your Video Library. This happens during the program’s run on a pay-cable channel.
Prime Video will automatically replace and make the video available to you through Your Video Library once the "Pay-TV Blackout Window" has ended.
How do I maximize my streaming speed?
While average streaming speeds will vary, here are some key factors that are relevant:
- Limits imposed by your internet service provider and the internet service package you have purchased
- The type of network you are using (wired Ethernet or MoCA is always faster than wireless)
- The physical distance between the wireless adapter and your wireless router
