Guided Setup is a brief procedure that teaches the DVR your network settings, TV channel lineup, and preferred audio/video settings. Why do I need to Repeat Guided Setup?
Guided Setup ensures that your TiVo DVR can display the correct list of channels from your program provider and can connect to the TiVo service.
DO Repeat Guided Setup When:
-
You need to switch to the English/Spanish UI. This feature is only available on devices running TiVo Experience 4.
-
You move to a new ZIP code or when you change your Cable Lineup (TiVo EDGE, TiVo BOLT Series, TiVo Roamio Series, and TiVo Premiere Series only).
-
You add a Cable box or Digital Transport Adapter (DTA) to a Series2 DT DVR setup.
-
You change the DVR's program source (Such as Cable to Satellite, Cable - only to Cable and Antenna).
-
You add a CableCARD when you did not have one before.
DO NOT Repeat Guided Setup When:
If you are using a TiVo Slide remote and your remote does not respond during Guided Setup, disconnect the USB receiver from the back of the TiVo DVR and proceed with Guided Setup using the Slide remote in IR mode. Once Guided Setup is complete, re-insert the USB receiver.
Before you Repeat Guided Setup:
-
Bear in mind that this process may take 20-30 minutes.
-
Make sure you have a good internet connection and make sure to test the connection.
-
Your recordings (including OnePass/Season Pass recordings and WishList auto-recordings) will not be affected by Repeating Guided Setup.
-
Repeating Guided Setup will interrupt ongoing recordings.
