SkipMode

Skipmode allows you to skip entire commercial sections with a single press of a Shortcut button! This feature is available on the following TiVo Experience 3 and TiVo Experience 4 devices:
 

• TiVo EDGE Series

• TiVo BOLT Series

• TiVo Roamio Series

• TiVo Premiere Series

• TiVo Mini Series

The SkipMode feature is available on the top 20 most-watched networks and more channels will be added in the future. The shows that will be SkipMode-enabled are those that appear during the most common recording hours: seven days a week, between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and before 12:00 a.m. for late night talk shows airing on ABC, NBC, and CBS). Recorded shows with the SkipMode feature appear in your My Shows lists with GREEN SKIP icon.

Your voice can now enable TiVo’s SkipMode feature. Only with TiVo can you tell your remote to “Skip It” and you can skip entire commercial breaks. No more waiting for your recorded show to resume or fumbling to fast forward through the commercial breaks. SkipMode works with the top 20 live TV channels, including ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and more. The next time you want to skip the commercials, grab your VOX remote, press the blue microphone button and just say so.

With Automatic SkipMode, commercials on SkipMode enabled shows will be skipped without having to press the SKIP or D button on the remote. To change the settings, go to:

 

Skip to the end of a commercial break and resume watching instantly with SkipMode. And when you set SkipMode to Automatic in Settings, you don’t have to lift a finger. To choose your SkipMode setting, go to Settings > User Preferences.
 

A few minutes after a show if finished recording, you'll see a SKIP icon next to the title in My Shows. That means it's ready for skipping!
 

1. Choose a recorded show with the SKIP icon visible.

   

2. If SkipMode is set to Automatic, as a show segment ends and a commercial break starts, you’ll see an on-screen tip telling you that SkipMode is in progress. If SkipMode is set to Manual, look for the on-screen tip, and press the SKIP button or D button on your remote.

   

3. Voilà! You’re at the beginning of the next segment, without a commercial in sight.

4. At any time during the show, CHANNEL UP takes you to the next show segment. For instance, want to skip the judging on your favorite reality show competition? Just press SKIP or D when the judging starts. You’ll skip past the judging and though the next commercial break. Your show will start playing at the beginning of the next segment.

5. To skip back to the beginning of a previous show segment, press CHANNEL DOWN

A dedicated team of TV-enthusiasts watches popular shows as they air and note where programming resumes after commercial breaks. This information is applied to the programs by the TiVo service as soon as it is available.

The actual program itself, series and the commercials, remain in the recorded programming where you can rewind and watch them at your convenience.

• For popular shows, our team usually has SkipMode information updated for a show within 1 hour of the show ending.

• SkipMode only applies to recorded programs, and only to recorded programs which have been marked for commercials by our team. SkipMode can't fast-forward live television.

• SkipMode requires you to use the remote to skip sections. The TiVo device itself does not automatically skip through the commercial breaks.

• When you use SkipMode, the commercial breaks are being skipped. The commercial breaks have not been removed from the program.
