Pairing Information
Remote pairing status:
If your remote times-out from the discoverable and bondable mode without having been successfully paired with any TiVo device, then your remote exits limited discoverable mode and preserves any previous bonding information. This behavior protects against an accidental entry into the discoverable and bondable mode. If your remote control loses connection it will try to reconnect every second.
New Mode
Your remote will support the “new” feature, if the remote has not been paired at the time that the batteries are first inserted. The remote will attempt to automatically pair with a TiVo device which is attempting to establish a connection.
When the TiVo Voice Remote is in an unpaired condition:
-
It will enter a special mode called New Mode. The remote will send each keypress as an IR code. Your TiVo VOX Remote will become discoverable and send pairing requests for 30 seconds.
-
Your remote will not begin sending the pairing requests in New Mode until a button is pressed and the corresponding IR command is sent.
Note:
-
Your unpaired remote in IR mode will not become discoverable and bondable again unless the remote pairing commands are entered. Please refer to the Pairing your TiVo VOX Remote section.
-
To enter new mode again, perform a Global Reset and/ or remove or replace the batteries.
