Using the Recently Deleted Folder or Recordings

All TiVo devices give you the ability to recover programs that you manually delete. You can also permanently delete them. Deleted programs appear in the Recently Deleted group in the Now Playing List or My Shows. Also, note that deleted programs are permanently removed from the Recently Deleted group as soon as space is needed for new recordings.

How to recover a program

For TiVo DVRs on TiVo Experience 3 (software version 20.x or earlier):

1. From TiVo Central > My Shows > All > Recently Deleted Recordings.

2. Highlight the program that you want to recover and press Select.

3. In the Deleted Program screen, select Recover this show.

4. The recovered program will reappear in My Shows. You can change how long you want to keep the recording by choosing the program and then More options.

If your My Shows is sorted by groups, the recovered program might not return to its previous folder.

For DVRs on TiVo Experience 4 (software version 21.x):

1. From HOME > My Shows > All Shows > Recently Deleted Recordings.

2. Highlight the program that you want to recover and press Select.

3. In the Deleted Program screen, select Recover this Show.

4. The recovered program will reappear in My Shows. You can change how long you want to keep the recording by choosing the program and then More options.

How to recover a program

1. From TiVo Central > Now Playing List > All > Recently Deleted.

2. Highlight the program that you want to recover and press Select.

3. In the Deleted Program screen, select Recover.

4. In the Recovery Complete screen, select Keep until I delete, Keep through or Don't change the date.

5. The recovered program will reappear in Now Playing List..

If your Now Playing List is sorted by groups, the recovered program may not return to its previous folder.

How to permanently delete a program

1. From TiVo Central > Now Playing List > All > Recently Deleted.

2. Highlight the program that you want to delete and press Select.

3. In the Deleted Program screen, select Permanently Delete.

4. You are asked Do you want to permanently delete this recording? Select Yes

5. The recovered program will reappear in Now Playing List..
