If you are experiencing issues or erratic behavior with your TiVo Stream 4K, restarting the device may resolve it. In extreme cases, such as when the device is continuously rebooting, performing a factory reset may resolve the issue.
Make sure your TiVo Stream 4K is plugged into a wall power outlet using the supplied USB adapter.
There are 2 ways to restart or reboot your TiVo Stream 4K:
1. Go to Settings.
2. Select Device Preferences.
3. Select Reboot.
- Unplugging the power cable
1. Unplug the power cord from your TiVo Stream 4K device.
2. Leave it unplugged for 10 seconds.
3. Plug the power cord back into the TiVo Stream 4K.
Unplugging your TiVo Stream 4K from the TV’s HDMI port does not reboot the device.
Before you perform a factory reset, keep in mind a factory reset will erase your device’s internal storage, including: your Google account, system settings and app data, and downloaded apps. If your TiVo Stream 4K is a part of Google Home, you will need to set up Google Home and add TiVo Stream 4K.
There are 2 ways to factory reset your TiVo Stream 4K.
- If you are able to view Android TV Home:
1. From Android TV Home, select Settings.
2. Select Device Preferences.
3. Select About.
4. Select Factory reset.
- If you are unable to view Android TV Home or access the setting, such as when the device is continuously rebooting or displays a black screen, use the button on the TiVo Stream 4K to perform a factory reset.
To navigate between Cancel and Reset options, press the button quickly. To make a selection, press and release the button after two seconds.
1. Press and hold the button for 10 seconds. This will launch the Factory Reset screen.
2. Press and release the button after two seconds to select Factory reset.
3. Press and release the button after two seconds to select Erase everything.
4. Your TiVo Stream 4K will take a few minutes to factory reset and restart. Upon completion, proceed to setup and activate the device.
If you are unable to view the Android TV Home screen, press the button using the sequence above to perform a factory reset.
